Crane repair in Orlando, Florida
Knuckle boom cranes, boom trucks, crane trucks, bucket trucks and manlifts, and the truck they ride on. Repaired at our shop on West Gore Street in Orlando, or where the truck is when the job allows it.

A crane shop that also fixes the truck
Orlando Crane Repair is the service side of Robert's Diesel Works Inc., a crane and diesel shop that has worked out of 906 West Gore Street in Orlando since 1989. Most of what comes through our gate is truck mounted: a knuckle boom crane on a flatbed, a stick boom truck, a service body crane, a bucket truck or a manlift. We repair the crane, the hydraulics that drive it and the truck under it, so a unit that is down for two reasons goes back to work after one visit.
We are an authorized dealer for PM and Rotobec. For every other make we are an independent shop: same bays, same technicians, parts sourced by the model and serial number on the crane plate.
Tell us what the crane is doing
Give us the make, the model and serial number from the crane plate, where the truck is, and what it is or is not doing. We will tell you whether it is a part, a repair or a bigger conversation.
What we repair
- Hydraulics: cylinders resealed or rebuilt, hoses made up, control valves, pumps, PTOs and swivels
- Booms and structure: cracks, worn pins and bushings, sliding pads, extension sections, welding
- Rotation and outriggers: slew drives, gear rings, stabilizer cylinders and their check valves
- Controls: radio remotes, top seats, levers, limit switches and overload protection
- The truck: engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials and PTO drives
- Installs and remounts: a crane moved to a newer chassis, or built onto a truck from scratch
The full list, system by system, is on crane repair services.

Most crane repairs are done best in a bay, with a lift, a press and the parts desk a few steps away. Some are not: a blown hose, a leaking cylinder that can be pulled on site, a remote that stopped talking to the receiver. We cover Orlando and Central Florida, and trucks come in from the rest of the state as well. How we decide between shop and road service, and the area we cover, is on shop repair, road service and service area.
Inspections
Buying a used crane truck, putting a crane back to work after a repair, or just want to know what is worn before it fails on a job? We go over the crane and the truck and tell you what we found and what it costs to fix. See crane inspections.
Makes we work on
PM and Rotobec as the authorized dealer. Independent service for Fassi, Hiab, Palfinger, IMT, Effer, Cormach, Atlas, Amco Veba, Heila, Jabco, Prentice, National Crane, Manitex, Altec, Auto Crane and other truck mounted equipment. If it is on a truck and it runs on hydraulics, call us and ask.
What a repair visit looks like
- First, you call with the make, model and serial number, and what the crane is or is not doing.
- Then we talk it through. Often we can tell on the phone whether it is a part, a reseal or a bigger job.
- We look at it, in the shop or on site, and find the actual fault instead of replacing parts until it goes away.
- You get the price before the work starts, with the parts it needs.
- We fix it and test it under load before it goes back to you.
For insurance work we write up the damage and the repair estimate and work with your adjuster.
